Prosecution Duration Patent Applications

During the summer, we have received several  enquiries regarding patent applications where the applicant has not yet received a First Office Action, even in applications filed as early as in 2003.

We have now gotten a statement from the Norwegian Patent Office saying that they will give priority to patent applications older than 7 years. For applications younger than 7 years, you will need to document special circumstances in order to obtain accelerated prosecution, such as an infringement situation. Please contact us if you want us to request a prioritised prosecution of your ageing applications.
