We generally await your comments and instructions before preparing a response to an Official Action. If we do not hear from you, we will routinelly monitor the deadline and attend to a timely request for an extension of term.

Extensions of reply terms: The Patent Office will allow for extensions of time, when timely requested. The first extension granted will be 6 months - whereupon a limited number of 3-month-extensions may be allowed for.

 

Reinstatement: If a deadline is not met, the application will be shelved. However, it can be reinstated if the response is filed and a reinstatement fee paid within two months. Reinstatement will only be granted once during the examination of the application.
